The Beacon by the Myfyrfa Petersen Partnership was placed on top of the portico to the City Hall, Cardiff and was lit on New Year's eve as a centerpiecte to the Millennium celebrations.
Made from Welsh stainless steel, produced at Panteg works in south Wales, it is reminicent of a cauldron used in Celtic ritual ceremonies and festivals and is symbolic of regeneration and rebirth. |
